Planning Board/Zoning Commission

The Columbia Falls City-County Planning Board/Zoning Commission meets on the Tuesday following the second Monday of the month whenever there are action items or public hearings scheduled.  The meetings are typically held in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 130 6th ST West at 6:30 p.m. The City may schedule the public hearing at an alternate location if deemed necessary. The exact date, time and location is on the public hearing notice and on the agenda. The Board agenda, minutes and packets are found on the Agenda & Minutes page. The full packet, Staff Reports, Applications and supplemental information and public comment are posted on the website no later than the Friday before the Tuesday hearing.

The Columbia Falls City-County Planning Board/Zoning Commission is made up of nine members: 4 appointed by the City Council, 4 appointed by the Flathead County Board of Commissioners and one at-large member, selected by the other members and approved by both Council and Commission.

To comply with the statutory public records requirements, all comments for the Planning Board/Zoning Commission are sent to the attention of the City Clerk Barb Staaland. The City Clerk processes and documents the correspondence according to state law and provides the comments to the Planning Board members.
